The legendary SuperDrive
Your PowerBook G4 with a new faster 4x
SuperDrive (DVD-R/CD-RW) comes loaded with
iDVD software, and can be used to burn DVDs
which can be played in most consumer DVD
players. iTunes lets you burn your own music
CDs, and the Disc Burner feature in Mac OS X
enables burning of data CDs.
High-speed architecture
Faster than ever, PowerBook G4 computers all
feature PowerPC G4 processors with Velocity
Engine that provide robust performance for
complex multimedia or data intensive
applications. The 15-inch and 17-inch models
boast processor speeds of up to 1.5GHz, and
the 12-inch model now offers speedier
performance with its 1.33GHz processor and
new 167MHz system bus.

screen? Use the built-in DVI port on the
17-inch and 15-inch PowerBooks and the mini-DVI
port on the 12-inch PowerBook to connect to
the new Apple Cinema Displays.
Lightning-fast graphics
With twice the amount of memory — 64MB of
DDR SDRAM, to be exact — now included with
its NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 processor, the
new 12-inch PowerBook G4 offers a noticeable
boost in graphics performance. The 15- and
17-inch models now sport the new ATI
Mobility Radeon 9700 with 64MB of DDR SDRAM.
Want even more graphics punch? Then order
your 1.5GHz 15- or 17-inch PowerBook with
128MB of video memory.
USB 2.0 and Fast FireWire 800
The PowerBook G4 comes ready for expansion,
fully equipped with USB 2.0 and FireWire
built in, standard across the line. The
15-inch and 17-inch models also include a a
PC Card/CardBus slot for Type I or Type II
cards. Both the 15-inch and 17-inch
PowerBooks feature two FireWire ports — one
FireWire 400 port and the other for the
coming generation of FireWire 800
peripherals (the 12-inch model comes with
FireWire 400).
AirPort Extreme built-in
Now built into every configuration of the
new PowerBook G4 family: fast AirPort
Extreme technology. Based on the 802.11g
standard, AirPort Extreme delivers — at
54Mbps — the fastest wireless connection
available. And with thousands of wireless
“hot spots” in hotels, airport lounges,
coffee shops and bookstores around the
world, you’ll be able to use your PowerBook
G4 to get online from practically anywhere.
Bluetooth built-in
Like wireless USB, Bluetooth replaces
physical cables between your computer and
peripherals with a wireless connection.
Operating within a 30-foot radius, it
enables data transfers between a rapidly
growing list of Bluetooth-enabled products
such as mobile phones and PDAs.

10.3 "Panther", the world's most
advanced operating system. Mac OS X
